In a note sent to Lusa agency, the PJ adds that the detainee is strongly indicted for a crime of offense to qualified serious physical integrity, noting that the detention took place in the context of international police cooperation with the Dutch authorities, the country to which the suspect fled after committing the crime.

The PJ explains that, through the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Board and the International Cooperation Unit and with the collaboration of the Dutch Authorities, it proceeded “to locate, detain and extradite to national territory, a 26-year-old man, strongly indicted for the practice of crimes of offense to qualified serious physical integrity and possession of a prohibited weapon”.

The crime took place on November 10, 2020, on a public road, in the municipality of Amadora, when the suspect, following an altercation with another 33-year-old man, shot him with a firearm.

“After committing the crime, the suspect left the country, being located and detained by the authorities of the Netherlands, following the issuance of a European arrest warrant by the Public Prosecutor's Office at DIAP de Lisboa Oeste – Amadora”.
