The warning will last until 3:00pm today and then will be repeated between 9:00am and 3:00pm on Tuesday.

The IPMA also placed the districts of Castelo Branco, Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga under a yellow warning because of strong winds with gusts of up to 95 kilometres per hour (km/h) in the highlands between 12:00 and 18:00 today.

Castelo Branco and Guarda will also have a yellow warning between 3:00pm today and 9:00am on Tuesday due to snowfall above 1,400 meters.

The IPMA also issued a yellow warning for the districts of Porto, Faro, Setúbal, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Beja, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga because of high seas.

The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather situation.

The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 3 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 13 (in Lisbon and Aveiro) and the maximum between 12 (in Guarda) and 21 (in Faro).
