To guarantee this service, the airline will rely on UATP technology, the global payment network for the airline industry, according to news published in the Spanish newspaper Hosteltur.

The same source also indicates that Vueling and Criptan are currently working on researching strategic applications of blockchain technology and NFTs to offer their customers innovative solutions and improve the customer experience through new digital technologies.

“Thanks to this alliance, Vueling once again reaffirms its position as a digital airline and wants to become the first low-cost airline in Europe to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment alternative”, according to the Spanish newspaper, which cites the Vueling website which states that this payment option will be available from the second half of 2023 for individuals.
