This Monday (5 December), the Irish airline put tickets on sale to “save” passengers affected by the cancellation of flights on routes to London, Brussels, or Funchal according to a report by ECO.

“Ryanair, Portugal's number 1 airline, has launched 'rescue fares' from €49.99 to accommodate the 50,000 Portuguese citizens/visitors affected by the massive TAP cancellations on December 8 and 9, due to a two-day cabin crew strike,” the Irish carrier said in a statement.

The campaign is aimed at passengers with cancelled TAP flights and includes routes connecting Lisbon to cities such as London, Brussels, Dublin, Funchal, Ponta Delgada, or Venice. From Porto, tickets are available for London, Funchal, or Luxembourg.

“Ryanair is, once again, saving the day”, says Elena Cabrera, country manager for Portugal and Spain, quoted in the statement. “While TAP's massive cancellations ruin customers' travel plans, Ryanair continues to operate with full schedules,” she adds.

TAP cabin crew advanced with a strike notice for 8 and 9 December.
