In information published on the website, the DGS states that “the booster vaccination in an open house regime is available for citizens aged 18 to 49 who have completed the primary vaccination schedule against Covid-19 and who have not been infected less than 90 days ago”.
The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) had already announced on Friday that vaccination of people in these age groups would begin shortly, following an opinion from the Technical Commission for Vaccination against Covid-19.
The DGS decision is part of an update of the rule on the seasonal vaccination campaign against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which now provides for “access of the adult population between 18 and 49 years old to the second vaccination booster against Covid-19 by individual decision.
“This update is carried out at a time when the majority of the eligible population, within the scope of the 2022-2023 seasonal vaccination campaign, is vaccinated”, said the DGS in a statement, adding that, since September, more than three million doses have already been administered”.
The “Open House” modality is also available for primary vaccination against Covid-19 for users aged 12 years and over and for users over 18 for booster vaccination against this disease caused by the SARS- CoV-2.
“To be vaccinated, just go directly to the vaccination point or to the health center”, says the DGS, stressing that vaccination against Covid-19 for children between 5 and 11 years old must be scheduled in advance at any point of vaccination.
The recommended interval between the seasonal booster dose and the most recent event (last vaccine dose or diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection) is 4 to 6 months (minimum interval: 3 months).
