In many parts of the world, people observe a two-minute silence at 11 am every 11 November, to remember those who lost their lives during the First World War as well as in more recent conflicts. This is always celebrated on the nearest Sunday, which this year is the 8th November. This Sunday All Saints Church Lagoa will be holding their traditional remembrance day service with live coverage (technology permitting) of the two minutes silence from the Cenotaph. This year for the first time in 100 years the traditional Cenotaph march past has been cancelled, but two minutes silence will still be observed. Visitors are very welcome, especially past members of the armed services who wish to worship with us. The service will start five minutes early and nobody will be admitted after that time, until the two minutes silence has been observed. All Saints Anglican Church Lagoa meets at the Chapel in the Convento de São Jose.
