The Minister of Health said today that the vaccine against covid-19, which may arrive in Portugal as early as January, will be free, optional and administered by the National Health Service (SNS). Marta Temido spoke to journalists in Lisbon yesterday at the end of a meeting attended by the Prime Minister, other Ministers and members of the task force created by the Government to design the vaccination plan. The national vaccination plan against covid-19 is due to be unveiled today.

I would love just five minutes with the health Minister to give her a dose of reality as a retired MD.
I am almost seventy with multiple health issues and have not been able to get an SNS number after 3 months of persistent badgering.
I have just booked a flight to the US for the vaccine.
All these government proclamations are just theater. There will be no return to normal without enough immunizations to provide heard immunity. Shame on these inept politicians and shame on the passivity of the Portuguese people who don’t hold there politicians to a higher standard.
