Minimum Salary on the up

The national minimum wage will increase by 30 Euros in January 2021, to 665 Euros.

The Government is preparing measures to compensate companies for the increase of inherent costs.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho, at a press conference after the meeting of the Permanente Commission for Social Coordination, in which the social partners were consulted on the issue.

Currently, the national minimum income is 635 Euros and the Government aims to reach 750 Euros at the end of the legislature. CGTP is calling for an increase to 850 Euros in the short term.

Employers’ confederations have contested the increase of the national minimum income, saying that the economic difficulties that companies are going thorough due to Covid-19 don’t allow for salary increases.

Here'e the flip side to this, in New York before the pandemic hit the minimum wage was raised to $15.00 per hour. Businesses were forced to either cut workers' hours or in some cases cut workers entirely in order to offset the additional expense. The irony is that some of these workers were also collecting assistance from the city in the form of food stamps and other subsidies and now their total income puts them out of these programs. They are now worse off with the raise in wages.

Here in USA Democrats push that idea of government increases pay wages over the Market abilities to have businesses. A Restaurant in a small town had food good locals came in. The town was NOT rich. The workers some had prison recorders but they had job and they felt good and kept them out trouble and off government roles. This state force business to pay more. Restaurant could not increase prices so it closed and these people lost their jobs. Democrat do not care who it hurts from their force government decisions.

In USA when government increase wages Government make MONEY from taxes. What ever the wage is like 15 dollars the Business is paying 30 dollars to have a employee. With all the government taxes to have employee Some Businesses cannot support paying 30 dollars hr, Government wants MONEY and every dollar you given employees it cost the Business extra 15 dollars goes to government in some state other wise it 9 dollars.

Just another sign of Recession create by Marxist values to destroy for need money high unemployment. Government creating poverty NOT the economy. Government decisions making poverty and then increase taxes to give to people that makes people dependent on Government Marxists. It destruction to health of working people of Portugal and NOT fun to have no freedom. Your in prison define by GOVERNMENT.

In USA democrats Marist complain wages to worker have NOT gone up for YEARS. What these Marxist Democrat do not tell you. The cost to a Businesses to have one employee has gone up really high. The wage increases is there but it goes to Government NOT to the worker. IT fake hoax that is what Marxist Government people do LIE for political ends for money and power to make rules

If a business cannot “afford” to pay fair wages, its structure is wrong. Workers are a resource to be paid like any other. When businesses don’t pay their workers enough, we all end up paying. Would you like to pay for some of my business expenses?
