The DGS epidemiological bulletin reveals that 2,990 people are hospitalised, 105 less than on Tuesday, of which 511 are in intensive care, equating to three more.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Portugal has registered a total of 6,343 deaths and 383,258 cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with 68,469 being active today, 892 more than on Tuesday.
The bulletin also reveals that 3,621 cases were reported to have been recovered.
Since the beginning of the epidemic in Portugal, in March, 308,446 people have recovered.
Regarding the 89 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the bulletin reveals that 40 occurred in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 32 in the North region, 14 in the Centre region and three in Alentejo.
According to the DGS bulletin, the Northern region recorded the highest number of new SARS-CoV-2 infections in the last 24 hours (1,811), representing 39.5 percent of the total cases.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the North region has registered 197,768 cases of infection and 2,973 deaths.
In the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, 1,467 new infections were reported, with 123,541 cases and 2,196 deaths so far.
In the Centre region, there were 791 more cases, with a total of 42,462 infections and 903 deaths.
In the Alentejo, another 322 cases were reported, totalling 9,727 infections and 176 deaths since the epidemic began in Portugal.
The Algarve region has today notified 151 new cases, totalling 6,812 infections and 64 deaths.
Madeira registered 38 new cases. Since March, this autonomous region has counted 1,332 infections and 10 deaths.
In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, 22 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, totaling 1,616 infections and 21 deaths.
Confirmed cases are distributed across all age groups, with the highest number of infections between 20 and 59 years of age.
Of the total fatalities, 3,299 were men and 3,044 women.
The largest number of deaths continues to be concentrated in the elderly over 80 years old, followed by people between 70 and 79 years old.

There was NO science, evidences and NO cases of anyone getting this virus from an Golf ball yet they closed golf courses and put lot of people out of Work and bankrupt places. Playing golf is the healthiest activity you could do. Given sunlight Kills the virus. With NO cases still limit golfing.
