A weekly update by Portugal’s Directorate-General for Health (DGS) released yesterday on the Covid situation reveals the Algarve municipalities of Albufeira, Loulé, Silves, Tavira and VRSA have exceeded the threshold of 240 new cases per hundred thousand inhabitants, in 14 days. Thus they would join Faro and São Brás de Alportel as high risk municipalities. However, the DGS’s list is merely indicative and until the Government reviews its official list later this week, the only Algarve municipalities currently officially classified as high-risk are Faro, Loulé and Portimão.
