In October, the Government approved, at the Council of Ministers, a 25 percent discount applied since the eighth day of monthly use, for class 1 and 2 vehicles, in certain sections of the A22 - Algarve; A23 - IP; A23 - Beira Interior; A24 - North Interior; A25 - Beiras Litoral and Alta; A28 - North Coast; A4 - AE sub-concession from Trás-os-Montes; A4 - Marão Tunnel; A13 and A13-1 - Sub-concession of Pinhal Interior.

The purpose of these discounts is, according to the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion, to benefit frequent users, that is, those who live and work in the interior of the country.

For Class 2, 3 and 4 vehicles used for the transport of supplies, the existing discounts increase to 35 percent during the day and 55 percent at night.

The 55 percent discount also covers weekends and holidays and applies to stretches where the 25 percent for class 1 and 2 are applied, as well as the routes of the Grande Porto Concession (A4, A41 and A42) and Concessions Silver Coast (A17, A25 and A29).

Class 2, 3 and 4vehicles used for the transport of passengers, for the first time, benefit from similar discounts as transport of supplies: reductions of 35 percent during the day and 55 percent at night, holidays and weekends.

These discounts apply to the sections of the A22 and A23, the former SCUTs of the Interior as well as the routes of the Grande Porto Concession (A4, A41 and A42) and the Costa da Prata Concessions (A17, A25 and A29), with the goal of encouraging the use of public transport.
