Questioned by Lusa, the DGS said that on 31 January had been applied 269,563 first doses and 68,7747 second doses, totalling 338,310 doses, equivalent to about 3.3 percent of the population.
The information differs from the online vaccination monitor of the European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC), where only about 166,000 first doses administered in Portugal are recorded.
The DGS states that this information "does not correspond to that submitted on the TESSy platform" (European Surveillance System) of the ECDC.
"The problem has already been identified and is being addressed by the DGS and ECDC teams," adds the Portuguese health authority.

It's a pathetic rate!
For a start it's 3.3% of the eligible population unless Portugal's population has magically shrunk to 8.16 Million.
In practical terms it also means that at this rate it will take 29 months to get to 100% coverage or 20 months to reach 70% coverage. Don't hold your breath because it means most people will *not* be vaccinated in the next 14 (the amount of time before 50% is reached).

Good morning, I would like to ask our journalists to tell us how the vaccination procedure will be done - in reality. I called yesterday the Centre de Saude in Lagoa to ask when my husband (73 y.o., with severe asthma = a risk patiant) can come. The lady told me, they do not know how they are going to notify the patient, they do not know when they will start ........ All my questions were answered the same why "Nao sabimos" Hundred millions people worldwide were already vaccinated and here nothing. I am really scared! Thank you Lenka
