Telecommunications led the complaints made to consumer watchdog Deco in 2020, and for the 13th consecutive year, increasing 30% compared to 2019. However, tourism, affected by the pandemic, received eight times more complaints than in 2019 and rose to the third most common complaint. Throughout last year, Deco received 396,767 consumer complaints, 53,000 more than the previous year, while the daily average went up from 940 in 2019, to more than a thousand complaints per day in 2020. The second most common grievance was the purchase and sale of consumer goods (including online transactions).
