The DGS bulletin also reveals that 5,570 people are hospitalised, 259 less, of which 836 in intensive care units, i.e. 17 less.

The number of people admitted to infirmary and intensive care is decreasing since Tuesday.

Today's data also indicates that 8,263 people have been reported recovered, bringing the total number of recovered people since the start of the pandemic in Portugal in March 2020 to 645,122.

For 11 consecutive days, the number of recovered people has exceeded the number of new infections.

Active cases in Portugal are also registering a decrease. There are 118,362 people with the active virus, 4,950 less compared to Wednesday.

Since March 2020, Portugal has recorded 14,885 Covid-19-associated deaths and 778,369 cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection.

Health authorities have 155,298 contacts under surveillance, down 7,268 from the previous day. This indicator has also registered a consistent decline since 30 January.
