My mother was diagnosed last March and made the decision to spend her final months at home in Vilamoura. This would have been a challenging experience at the best of times, but with a global pandemic in the mix,and with outside caring difficult to find, however, two months ago,as my mothers condition progressed into its latter stages,we were contacted by the ARS,who came to our rescue with a team of doctors and nurses who visited our home twice a week during my mothers final weeks. The team was incredible and offered my wife and I counselling support to help us cope with this difficult time.We would also like to commend the Cuidados Continuados Loulé for the care my mother received. We are so grateful that these services were available to us in the Algarve.Thankyou ARS Cuidados Paliativos São Brás de Aportel and the Portuguese goverment for providing this service.
