The beach in Carvoeiro might not be the biggest, or the best kept secret, but it certainly has a bunch of charm and great features. The golden sand is framed by the typically Algarvian limestone cliffs which are surrounded by the beautiful white houses of what once used to be a fishing village. For everyone that likes comfort and easy access to the beach, this is the place to go. Parking nearby is plentiful and the way in is easy, without stairs and with wooden walkways along the sand, this beach really is accessible to everyone. Everything you could possibly need for a beach-day is walking distance from here. There are showers and bathrooms, bars, cafés and restaurants as well as delicious ice-cream places and souvenir and clothes shops. In the summer you can enjoy water activities offered by the locals, like a boat tour around the beautiful cliffs and caves. Praia do Carvoeiro is also a Blue Flag beach that has lifeguards all throughout the bathing season.
