A 36-year-old Portuguese-Canadian accused of kidnapping and raping two women in the Algarve has denied the accusations in a two and a half hour hearing in Faro court yesterday. The man said he met the women in May 2019 in a strip club in Vilamoura, where they worked, and in which he said he was planning to invest. According to the prosecution, a Brazilian woman and a British woman were held for several days in the defendant's house in Loulé, where they were allegedly raped, assaulted and received death threats. The defendant denies all accusations.
