European Medicines Agency approves Johnson & Johnson vaccine

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) today approved the Janssen vaccine of covid-19, produced by the pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson, considering it "safe and effective".

"EMA has just recommended that Janssen's covid-19 vaccine be given conditional marketing authorization for people over 18", the agency announced on its Twitter feed.

This is the fourth vaccine approved in the EU, with the European Commission now given green light to enter the market.
