‘I am 94. I’ve had an extraordinary life. It’s only now that I appreciate how extraordinary… We have one final chance to create the perfect home for ourselves and restore the wonderful world we inherited’
In this book the author shares his lifetime of wisdom and hopeful vision for the future .He explores how the world has changed since he was born and if we don’t change our behaviours how it could look in the future.
Sir David Attenborough is a BAFTA and Emmy-Award winning broadcaster and natural historian. He is an internationally bestselling author and his documentaries are well loved by many. Jonnie Hughes is a science writer, documentary director and author.
The book is divided into three sections. The first is Attenborough’s witness statement, the second is a warning for the future and the last part focuses on the vision for the future.
This is not your typical Attenborough book. There are a few pictures of animals and some pencil drawings. But then this is not meant to be your typical book.
The writing style is clear and informal so it is easy to understand but there are a lot of statistics which may put off some readers.
One criticism is the double spacing and larger font means the books is not as long as it seems.
This was an informative read and full of David Attenborough’s knowledge and insights. It also makes for scary reading but brings home the lesson we can all make changes to reduce the impact of climate change.
