easyJet continues to play a decisive role in supporting the recovery of the national economy, enabling it to bring back tourists to Portugal. An example of this is the recent announcement about the opening of the third base in the country, at Faro airport, on 1 June and the launch of routes such as this one, which guarantees another connection between the Algarve and the UK.

José Lopes, easyJet general manager for Portugal, states: "Today we are announcing yet another bet by our airline in the aviation market in Portugal, and despite it being 1 April, it's no lie! One of easyJet's strategic goals is to continue to give the Portuguese and those who visit us, the possibility to have a complete offer that meets their needs. Thus, we put our new route on sale, which will connect the capital of the Algarve to Birmingham, already from this summer. Whether for leisure or other purposes, we intend to give our passengers the best experiences, through the best prices and confidently."

The safety the wellbeing of all customers and crew remains easyJet's top priority, so the company continues to follow a range of on-board safety procedures as directed by the relevant authorities. This includes daily cabin disinfection, being effective in protecting against coronavirus for at least 24 hours and also the mandatory wearing of masks for customers and crew. All easyJet aircraft are equipped with HEPA filters, similar to those used in hospitals and filtering out 99.97 percent of viruses and bacteria that may be airborne in the cabin.
