My wife is diabetic, reliant on an insulin pump. We cannot get the consumables for her pump here, as the few insulin pumps here are different from the unit she has.

We have been getting them sent without issue from the UK, that is until 31 December.

There last package was held up by the Portugese customs. We received a card telling us to supply, amongst other things, a receipt showing the cost of the bits. As we couldn’t supply this ( I stated that it was foc) they sent them back to the sender in the UK, at no cost to us.

A little common sense would have saved a lot of time and money.

Sadly without the service to supply this on a regular basis (which we pay for to the NHS) we now have to sell up here on the Algarve, give up our Portuguese residency and return to the UK after almost twenty years here.
