The vice-president of the Regional Government, Pedro Calado, revealed that the decision may be announced by next Monday, but that it will depend on the analysis of the situation in the archipelago in the last 15 days, taking into account the return of the face-to-face classes and the Easter period.

On the sidelines of the opening of the Citizen Space in the parish of Santo António, Funchal municipality, Pedro Calado stressed that the Regional Government is trying to better manage the relationship between epidemic and the economy, so he admitted "the easing of some measures taken in January" to contain the disease.

The official considered that "vaccination is going very well", remembering that there has already been a "cautious reopening of many activities".

"Until the 26th, the president of the Regional Government [Miguel Albuquerque] will take stock of the situation," he added.
