Algarve bookings soar after Portugal's inclusion on UK's “green list”

The announcement by the UK Government that Portugal would be included on the restricted Green List of countries has reportedly triggered a rush for holiday reservations in the Algarve.

After months in lockdown, entrepreneurs in the sector have been buoyed by the apparent early effects of the quarantine waiver for English nationals returning home.

With popular destinations like Spain and Greece off the Green List, British travel agents are, according to SIC Noticias, redirecting holidaymakers to the Algarve. Reports in the UK also claim that flight prices to Faro have risen by an average of €80 since the announcement.

Like the other stories in PN, that claim real estate sales are booming in portugal! Oh yeh :( I don’t think so,

Who is behind these lies, writing these outright lies? And publishing these lies?

Only the brain dead will want to risk travelling to any country where entry is dependent on health passports, tests and risks of quarantines or arrests. And airports are now like prisons.
People are afraid to travel now, so the idea that everything will just go back to normal and planes, hotels, and tourism will boom is naive and brain dead!

The economy is broken, people are broke, they lost there savings and businesses because of the lockdowns, people have no money,
So how is portugal going to have a boom in tourism!

There will be very little travellers to portugal or anywhere else.

Until the people rise up and take back their freedom and stop the communist destruction of the human race, by klaus Schwab and his wef gang members,
there will be only darkness!

Algarve property has increased in value considerably in the last 2 years. Rents equally.
The British (and others) are not afraid to travel once vaccinations and other measures are in place. Just read about new bookings for holidays in the last day or two.
People rise up ?? Does he want a Trump like incursion into parliament?

Seems Dave is so wrong, I am struggling to find the holidays I usually take in the Algarve because it is booking up so fast, the Brits love there holidays in the sun, and Portugal is not only an obvious choice, but could get lots of Brits like myself love your country as much as I do, the Portuguese deserve this stroke of luck out of a bad situation.

There is no such thing as a "UK Green List". There is an English Green List which is the responsibility of the UK government. The other three constituent parts of the UK have their own rules that are decided in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast, and which have nothing to do with the London government. In matters of health, the UK government speaks only for England.

Maybe people that book to return to the UK try to find someone that will do the only PCR test that is needed by the UK government which must be booked before you fly and test returned before day 2 is up in the Uk loads of 2 and 8 day test at 170 to 250 for two lots of test but no single only test showing online with single price.
