A `task force' source who coordinates the logistics of the vaccination plan confirmed to Lusa that it is foreseeable that some people over 37 years old may start being vaccinated this week, depending on availability.

The same source said it is not yet possible to say when self-scheduling will be opened for people over 35, a possibility that had been announced on Saturday by the `task force'.

This self-scheduling process allows citizens to select the location and date they wish to be vaccinated, then receiving an SMS message confirming the date, time and vaccination centre. Confirmation of the appointment requires that an SMS reply is sent.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, by the end of Sunday, more than 7.3 million vaccines against covid-19 had been administered, with about 4.7 million referring to first doses and 2.6 million to second doses.
