In a response sent to Lusa news agency, the National Republican Guard said that between 3pm on Friday and 6am on 5 July, 7,630 vehicles were inspected.

According to the GNR, 581 refusals of entry and exit from the AML were registered and 18 infraction notices were issued for non-compliance with the legislation in force under the Covid-19 pandemic, as these people entered the AML without the exceptions provided by law.

For the third consecutive weekend, it was prohibited to circulate in or out of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, between 3pm on Friday and 6am on Monday, with the exceptions provided by law, due to the increase in cases of Covid-19 in AML.

People who have a digital certificate or test negative for Covid-19 can enter and leave the Metropolitan Area.

Compared to last weekend, GNR recorded fewer refusals of entry and fewer administrative offences.

On the limitation of circulation between 11pm and 5am in the 45 municipalities at very high risk (19) and high risk (26), a measure in force since last Friday, the GNR highlights the closure of an illegal party in the municipality of Alcochete, which has high risk, with about 300 people in the early hours of Sunday.

In a balance also made to Lusa, the PSP indicated that they arrested five people and recorded almost 60 offences, mostly in the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon, during the weekend, and under the supervision of measures to combat the pandemic.

Most of the offences were for failure to comply with the rules on the sale and consumption of alcohol on public roads and for not wearing a mask in the street.
