The announcement of the 2022 line up includes Limp Bizkit, Hoobastank, Placebo, Suede, Iggy Pop, Bauhaus, Wolfmother, The Legendary Tigerman and Tara Perdida, adding Gary Numan and Battles.

The festival, which takes place from August 25th to 27th, 2022, also indicated that more names will be announced soon.

In July 2020, the organisation announced the return of the historic festival for this year, from 26 to 28 August, but "new delays in the tours of international artists have undoing months of hard efforts" to make possible the return of the "oldest of festivals" of the country" to that village of Caminha, in the district of Viana do Castelo.

On Saturday, the Vilar de Mouros festival organisers celebrate 50 years of the Portuguese style "Woodstock", offering 400 people tickets for four concerts on the historic stage built in 1982 in that village of Caminha.

The country's first music festival, which still enjoys the reputation of being the Portuguese "Woodstock", took place for the first time in 1971 in Vilar de Mouros, but had suffered an eight-year break between 2006 and 2014.

The 1st edition of 1971, launched by the physician António Barge, was attended by, among others, Elton John and Manfred Mann.
