"We can confirm that there will be flights from Porto to New York and to Brazil", said Ourmières-Widener, in response to questions from the deputies regarding the eventual committee for monitoring the implementation of the response measures to the Covid-19.

“The remaining flights will be analysed and decided on a case-by-case basis. I'm talking about long-haul flights that also serve to power the Lisbon hub”, added the executive chairman, after having been asked about TAP's divestment at Porto airport in recent years.

Asked about the absence of Porto Santo, in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, from the winter route plan, the official argued that the decision was taken based on market studies, but that a reassessment could be made if new information emerges.

“So far, the information we have does not allow us to operate this route this winter,” she said.
