According to a source from the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) in Faro, the victim is “apparently aged 30, female and of French nationality”.

“The seriously injured are all foreign nationals”, said the same source, indicating that among them was a 15-year-old girl of German nationality, a 15-year-old boy of French nationality and a 10-year-old boy of Dutch nationality.
The other two victims who suffered serious injuries are a 41-year-old man of French nationality and a 46-year-old woman of Dutch nationality, according to the Faro CDOS.
"The only victim of Portuguese nationality is the driver of the vehicle," said the Civil Protection, adding that he suffered minor injuries, as did another 48-year-old Dutchman.
The wounded were transported to Hospital de Faro and to Hospital de Portimão, of the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve, the same source said.
According to the CDOS in Faro, the accident took place in an area of ​​difficult access and the victims had to be removed from the area by rescue teams on foot.
“It is a difficult area to access and at an operational level it is not easy.”, said the same source at 18:30 on 29 October, adding that a helicopter from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) was at the scene.
The accident occurred at 17:22 in Macheira, in Alte, Loulé, in the district of Faro.
