“Right now we are proceeding with the collection of evidence, but in a first analysis everything points to a homicide and suicide”, said the same source, in statements to Lusa.

The victims, a man and a woman, both around 60 years old, were found in the house where they lived in Vale Mós, “with wounds caused by a firearm”.

According to Lusa the source, only after collecting the evidence and analysing the autopsy report will it be possible to determine the sequence of events.

The alert to the authorities was given by the couple's son in the late afternoon of Tuesday, and emergency and relief teams were sent to the scene.

The death of the two people was confirmed by the physician of the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM).

The National Republican Guard (GNR) reported the case to the PJ, which took over the investigation.
