“During Saturday and until the end of Sunday afternoon, 201,100 doses of both vaccines were administered in the vaccination centres”, said a statement from the DGS.

The organisation led by Graça Freitas stated that Portugal has administered, to date, more than 1.1 million booster doses of the vaccine against Covid-19 and close to 1.9 million vaccines against the flu.

"These results were possible due to the acceleration of daily vaccination at vaccination centres, including at the weekend", adds the note.

The DGS recalls that vaccination is the best way to avoid serious illness, hospitalisations and death, reinforcing the appeal for people who are not yet vaccinated to schedule an appointment on the institution's website.
