The data on transport released by the statistical authority points to 96 more injuries than in the same period of 2020 and 175 less compared to 2019, which means a year-on-year increase of 14.3% and a reduction of 18.6% compared to 2019.

According to DREM, collective transport by bus transported, between January and September 2021, 8.9 million passengers (urban lines), +9.6% compared to the same period in 2020 and -30, 7% compared to 2019.

In long-distance services, 5.4 million passengers were transported, representing a growth of 34.9% compared to the same period of the previous year and a variation of -8.6% compared to 2019.

In aggregate terms (including urban and intercity), the number of passengers transported in the Autonomous Region of Madeira grew by 18.0% compared to 2020 and decreased by 23.7% compared to 2019.

On the other hand, in the first nine months of 2021, around 304.1 thousand tickets were sold to cable car users in the region (+32.9% than in the same period in 2020; -58.0% compared to 2019) , with 91.2% for adults, 5.0% for children and the remaining 3.9% for other types of users, such as farmers, residents, students.

Total revenue, in terms of cable cars, was approximately 3 million euros, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 20.8% (-62.7% compared to 2019).
