The Mobility and Transport Institute (IMT) has published the list of bidders admitted to the international public tender for the acquisition of services for the development of the “Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Lisbon Region Airport Capacity Expansion Plan”. The deadline for submitting proposals ended on January 10, and there are four consortia on the table.

According to IMT, the following consortia have put forward proposals:

Consortium formed by Quadrante, an engineering and consulting company, and the consultancy PricewaterhouseCoppers, for the amount of €2,295,000;

Consortium formed by Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva/Ernst & Young/Ove Arup & Partner/Leadin Aviation Consulting and by Ramboll Iberia, for the amount of €2,000,000;

Consortium of COBA - Engineering and Environment Consultants and Ingeniería e Economia del Transporte, for the amount of €1,999,980;

Consortium formed by IDAD - Instituto do Ambiente e Desenvolvimento/TIS PT/FUNDEC - Association for training and development in civil engineering and architecture and by Senerengivia, for the amount of €1,996,882.

"After analysing the submitted proposals and applying the award criteria contained in the tender programme, the jury will prepare a grounded preliminary report, in which it must propose the ordering of the same as provided for in article 147 of the Public Contracts Code", says IMT.

The international public tender to choose the entity that will assess the location of the new airport was launched last year, and the value of the contract is €2.5 million.

The Government wants to evaluate three solutions: the current dual solution, in which Humberto Delgado airport will have the status of the main airport and Montijo will be complementary; an alternative dual solution, in which Montijo will progressively acquire the status of the main airport and Humberto Delgado will complement it; and the construction of a new Lisbon international airport at Campo de Tiro de Alcochete.
