In a statement, the PF detailed that the agents of the corporation were called by employees of the Federal Revenue Service, who were inspecting passengers at immigration control, due to suspicions of illegal content hidden in a "kind of elastic strap used, in the abdomen region, by a man ".

"The passenger, a 25-year-old Brazilian, was arrested after the police found a volume, wrapped in adhesive tape, containing more than two kilograms of cocaine. The suspect was destined for Lisbon, Portugal", indicated the PF.

The Brazilian citizen will be presented to the Federal Court, where he will answer for the crime of international drug trafficking.

Despite not having its own cocaine production, Brazil is one of the main transit points for drugs from other Latin American countries to Europe, and Portugal has become one of the gateways for narcotics to the European continent.
