It's fair to say that football fans in England don't know a whole lot about potential new Everton manager Vitor Pereira. Although he isn't a well-known name on these shores, his achievements certainly are. The Portuguese have earned plenty of admirers after leading Porto to three successive league titles between 2011 and 2014—making him one of only five coaches in history to have won three consecutive championships in any top-level European league (the others being José Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Ernst Happel, and Helenio Herrera). And as we all know by now, winning isn't enough; it's how you win.

And what better way to show your worth than with a 100 percent win record in Champions League knockout ties? Since 2010, Pereira has led Porto out at Old Trafford twice, at Wembley once, and at Anfield once. Only Chelsea have seen more of their home stadiums hosting games involving teams managed by an individual they're looking to hire since 2012.

But perhaps most impressively, when handed continental opposition Porto rose admirably to be among Europe's finest fighting machines. Last season alone they knocked out holders Bayern Munich before falling just short against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the semifinals.

According to Betonmobile, Everton has become interested in hiring Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira for their vacant managerial position after he was let go by German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen. After spending just one season in charge of Bayer Leverkusen, it looks like things have come to an end for manager Vítor Manuel António Pereira. The 41-year-old has been officially relieved of his duties as head coach at Die Werkself after a poor run of form since the start of 2017. His only success with them was getting them promoted to Bundesliga before they got relegated again last season.
