“Agricultural forecasts, on January 31, indicate that the 2021 olive oil season will reach the highest production of olive oil ever (2.25 million hectoliters), as a result of the excellent agrometeorological conditions throughout the campaign and the profound restructuring of the sector, which highlights the growing importance of intensive olive groves”, says the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

“On the other hand, the negative effects of the severe and extreme meteorological drought can already be observed, which, at the end of January, affected 45% of the continental territory” and whose impact is felt, above all, in livestock production, cereal farming and rising prices in production.
