The municipality with the lowest incidence is Penedono, with 233 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, about a third of the 661 registered last Friday.

Vimioso (253 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), Resende (329), Paços de Ferreira (354), Ribeira de Pena (367), Vila Flor (383) and Miranda do Douro (384) are among the municipalities with the lowest incidence.

Highest levels

Among those still above the maximum threshold defined by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, which stands at 960 or more cases per 100,000 inhabitants, Corvo, with 11,915 cases, has the highest incidence.

Velas (9,430), Horta (8,122), Porto Santo (7,851), Lajes do Pico (5,634) and Calheta of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (5,381) are among the municipalities with the highest incidence of the 308 Portuguese municipalities.

In the explanatory note of the data by municipality, released in the DGS epidemiological bulletin, it is mentioned that "the cumulative incidence at 14 days of infection by SARS-CoV-2 corresponds to the quotient between the number of new confirmed cases in the 14 days prior to the moment of analysis and the estimated resident population, by county".
