According to a report by ECO, with the price of a barrel of Brent hitting highs, consumers will experience an unprecedented weekly increase.

From next Monday, when filling up the car, diesel will be about 20 cents more expensive and petrol 15 cents, a source in the sector told ECO, using the values until the close of the market on Thursday. But these increases will be slightly attenuated with the new support launched by the Executive, which allows prices to be reduced by up to four cents.

The increases of 15 cents for gasoline and 20 cents for diesel mean that the price per litre of simple gasoline 95 will be 2,067 euros and that of simple diesel will be 2,012 euros at the beginning of next week, according to data of the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology. These values may, however, undergo an adjustment because it is still necessary to incorporate this Friday's Brent quotes.

This rise is substantially higher than the average increase of 14 cents in diesel and 8.5 cents in gasoline this week.
