The CIMBB explained that the second edition of the ballooning event “Voar na Beira Baixa” takes place within the scope of the project “Beira Baixa: 3 Days 3 Experiences”.

"For six days, 15 to 20 balloons from various countries will colour the sky over Beira Baixa, demonstrating that tourist flights in hot air balloons are a contribution to the region's tourism development", the note reads.

According to the information, the hot air balloons start their journey in Penamacor and then go on to Idanha-a-Nova, Castelo Branco, Vila Velha de Ródão, Proença-a-Nova and Oleiros.

The event also includes the 'Night Glow', a light and sound show, where the balloons synchronize their burners to the rhythm of the music.

"The event seeks to contribute to gradually positioning Beira Baixa as one of the centres of Portuguese ballooning and, therefore, to contribute to the qualification and tourist appreciation of the endogenous differentiating potential of the region", concluded the organisation.

CIMBB integrates the municipalities of Castelo Branco, Idanha-a-Nova, Oleiros, Penamacor, Proença-a-Nova and Vila Velha de Ródão, and its mission is to enhance and promote the development of the sub-region, optimising and defending common interests of its municipalities, in order to reinforce the joint identity of the territory.
