The company's executive president, João Bento, confirmed the CTT price rise at a time when the company is facing rising costs related to rising fuel prices and inflation.

“The annual price increase was made last week, on March 7, and orders are showing higher demand compared to the first quarter of last year, because of the lockdown that was in place”.

Since last week postage has been more expensive. For example, sending a letter by regular mail weighing up to 20 grams in standard format now costs 57 cents, up from the previous price of 54 cents. The registered mail service weighing more than 500 grams has increased from5.9 to 6.5 euros, an increase of more than 10%.
