Since the beginning of this measure, launched in November last year, the Government has already reimbursed a total of €49.5 million, according to information from the Ministry of Finance.
According to the Government, the AUTOvoucher already has more than 2.4 million subscriptions, after over 819,000 Portuguese joined the program in the last two weeks, more specifically since March 4.

Alternatively, they could just reduce or even cancel the 23% fuel tax. It needs just one prime minister to sign this off instead of an extra army of Lisbon based bureaucrats/functionaries to administer this totally unnecessary scheme.
