According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Leiria and Coimbra will be on a yellow warning, starting at 21:00 today and until 03:00 on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the IPMA also placed the districts of Évora, Beja, Setúbal and Faro under a yellow weather warning, between 3am and 12pm due to the forecast of showers, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms.

Snow warning

The IPMA also issued a yellow weather warning for the districts of Castelo Branco and Guarda between 6:00am and 6:00pm on Wednesday because of snowfall above 1700/1800 metres.

The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever the weather situation represents a risk for certain activities.

Today minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 7 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 11 (in Viseu, Coimbra and Faro) and the maximum between 10 degrees (in Guarda) and 18 (Setúbal, Santarém, Leiria, Aveiro and Braga).
