Airbus will hire 300 employees in Portugal this year to expand its operations in Lisbon, where the European aircraft manufacturer last year hosted its Global Business Services Center.

According to a press release from Airbus, this subsidiary “already employs more than 130 specialists in the areas of administrative, transactional, reporting and IT services, and is now looking for a further 300 employees, mainly with profiles in the areas of Finance, HR, Purchasing, Information Management, Engineering, Communication, Customer Services, Legal and Compliance”.

“After Airbus identified the need to create a new central and specialised Global Business Service Center, Lisbon emerged as the ideal “hotspot” in Europe, as it meets all the requirements: specialists/available talents, existence of the GBS sector, accessibility, attractive and safe location, GDPR compliant and with a favourable working environment”, says the European aeronautical manufacturer, in a statement.

Currently, explains Airbus, this center ensures the “control and security of critical Airbus data and processes, structuring Airbus standards at a global level, connecting processes throughout the chain and coordinating tools to improve the efficiency of support services”.

“When we started operations eight months ago, it was clear that we needed qualified specialists to grow quickly. Today, we are proud to have a strong team with 130 professionals from 21 different nationalities. We continue to recruit local and international talent with very important profiles for our operations, such as Finance, Purchasing and Information Management (IM). This is an important opportunity for people to join the Airbus family and an open door for people to learn and advance in their careers around the world”, underlines Charles Huguet, Managing Director of Airbus GBS.

Attractive salary

According to Airbus, this international development platform offers “an attractive salary package in addition to various benefits that promote professional and personal well-being, including health insurance, life insurance, an annual bonus for Airbus’ global success, as well as a company share purchase program for employees”.

The employees of the Global Business Services Center also have an Employee Support Program, which offers support in different areas, such as legal, financial and childcare, in addition to a flexible work policy that favours international internal mobility.
