Dave Grohl's band had a concert scheduled for June 18 at Rock in Rio Lisboa, where they were headliners on the main stage of the festival on the same day that The National, Liam Gallagher and Xutos & Pontapés are set to play.

In a message shared on social media, the Foo Fighters confirmed, "with great sadness, the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates, due to the disconcerting death of our brother Taylor Hawkins".

"Let's take this time to grieve, to recover, to be with the ones we love and to appreciate all the music and memories we've made together", reads the band's statement, in which they say goodbye "with love".

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, 50, died Friday night in Bogota, hours before the band were to perform at the Estéreo Picnic festival.

In a statement, the organisers of Rock in Rio explained that it is making plans to replace the band as headliner on the 18th of June and that it will be possible to request a ticket refund.
