“Manchester United are delighted to announce that Bruno Fernandes has signed a new contract, which will keep him at the club until June 2026, with an option for an additional year. Fernandes, who has twice won the Player of the Year award, has created more goal scoring opportunities than any other United player since arriving in January 2020.

The 27-year-old midfielder, teammate of fellow countrymen Diogo Dalot and Cristiano Ronaldo, has played 177 games for Manchester United, having scored 49 goals and 39 assists.

“It is a real privilege to wear this jersey and fight for our incredible club. I want to achieve much more here. More than anything, we want to give fans the success they deserve. We have shared great moments in recent years, but the best is yet to come”, said Bruno Fernandes, in statements released by the Manchester club.

Fernandes trained at Boavista, Infesta and Pasteleira, but began his career in Italy at Novara, having then worked at Udinese, Sampdoria and Sporting, before moving to Old Trafford.

The midfielder has 42 games and eight goals for the Portuguese national team and was there for the final stages of the 2018 World Cup and Euro 2020.
