Maria Fernanda Amorim, the widow of businessman Américo Amorim, and her family are in 601st place, and are the only Portuguese representatives on Forbes magazine's list of the richest billionaires in 2022.

The 87-year-old businesswoman and her three daughters have climbed seven places since the list compiled in 2021 by Forbes, although her net worth remains unchanged at $4.7 billion. In turn, the CEO of Farfetch, José Neves, is not present in the most recent compiled list, after occupying the 1,249th place in 2021, with assets valued at $2.5 billion.

Maria Fernanda Amorim and her family inherited the fortune of Américo Amorim, who died in 2017 after sixty years at the helm of Corticeira Amorim and investments in the energy and banking sector. Amorim holds an 18% stake in Galp Energia, whose company is chaired by his eldest daughter, Paula Amorim.

Although the Amorim family's fortune dropped from US$4.8 billion in 2019 to US$3.8 billion in 2020, this amount was almost fully recovered in 2021.

The 2022 edition of the richest billionaires of Forbes has 2,678 personalities, against 2,775 in 2021, and from this list, 735 billionaires are in the United States of America, while in second place is China with 607.
