The European project “Bicification – The Future on Two Wheels”, will reward 500 bicycle users for distances covered in the city of Braga, allowing them to accumulate money to spend in local shops.

“The more you ride, the more you accumulate” is the project's message, and each user can earn up to a maximum of €28 per month.

For the mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, this project aims to contribute to the promotion of a culture of mobility in the city, “ensuring a coexistence of means of transport of different types and for different audiences.

“This is yet another incentive to promote more environmentally friendly modes of transport, to the detriment of the car,” he said.

Through a GPS system and the associated application, it will be possible to monitor the trips made by bicycle, which will give rise to financial incentives.

This monitoring is carried out on a centralized data platform.

To join the project, all you need to do is live or work in Braga, be over 15 years old and own a bicycle and smartphone.

Applications must be made by May 31 at https://bit.ly/utilizadoresbicificationbraga

In addition to the city of Braga, Istanbul, in Turkey, and Tallin, in Estonia, also joined the project.
