Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will be at the farewell scheduled for 6:30 am, at Figo Maduro airport, in Lisbon.

This force comprises 221 soldiers, 201 from the sniper company (reinforced with an anti-aircraft defense module, an intelligence unit and a support module) and 20 from the special operations team.

The contingent leaves for Romania – a country bordering Ukraine – under the NATO 'Tailored Forward Presence' mission, which aims to contribute "to the deterrence and defense of the Alliance on its southeastern flank".
