Thanks in part to the easing of Covid-19 travel restrictions and the knowledge that British travellers can quickly gain entry to the country by using electronic passport gates at the airport, Portugal is fast becoming the most sought after summer destination for Brits.

According to a study by Rightmove, searches for Portugal holidays have increased 24 percent in one year and over 25 percent in the last seven days.

Porto Santo

New data from Rightmove also found that Porto Santo is now the most searched spot in Portugal.

Comporta, located south of Lisbon, is second, and Vila Real de Santo António, in the Algarve, is third.

Portugal has become the first EU country to allow Britons fast-tracked entry with the aim of speeding up the passport control process.
