"With the exception of the long-distance trains that remained with minimum services, railway circulation is practically paralyzed from north to south of the country", said José Manuel Oliveira.

CP said that between 00:00 and 08:00 today, there were 235 cancellations, 93% of scheduled trains, which would be 252.

“On Sunday between 00:00 and 24:00, 191 trains were suppressed at national level, around 24% of the total planned circulations”, added a source from CP.

This Monday's strike also covered workers who started their work period on Sunday or who start their work period in the last hours of this Monday and end on Tuesday.

The workers of CP – Comboios de Portugal are on a 24-hour strike this Monday to demand salary increases of 90 euros for all workers.
