Available since April 20, the service in English aims to respond to non-Portuguese-speaking citizens, namely people arriving in Portugal from Ukraine, taking into account that it serves people with symptoms associated with anxiety, depression and adaptation to crisis situations.

“In 2021, we had about 85 thousand calls in which the user sought to be answered in English in the sorting area”, said the president of SPMS, Luís Goes Pinheiro.

Created at the beginning of the pandemic, on April 1, 2020, the SNS 24 Psychological Counselling Line (LAP) has already answered more than 156,800 calls in Portuguese.

In the last month, between April 20 and May 23, it served more than 5,600 Portuguese-speaking people.
